INTRODUCTION

The National Science Olympiad organized by Great Future Pakistan (founded in 2022) is a test-based educational contest. National Science Olympiad is an Online MCQs-based contest with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics & Economics to enhance students’ skills to compete in practical tests like PMA, CSS, Entry Tests, etc. MCQs given in the test are standard to other tests. During the activity of Great Future, the National Science Olympiad was held four times during the last two years named Phase-I, Phase-II, Phase-III & Phase-IV. Cash Awards of winners were disbursed accordingly. There are three rounds in the National Science Olympiad Phase-V 2025. For grades 4th – 8th, all rounds will be from General Science. For grades 9th – Master, In the first round, Biology tests will be conducted & in 2nd round, Chemistry tests will be performed, and in the final round Physics tests will be conducted. Then the merit list will be prepared for cash awards. Cash award amounts may vary with time and conditions.

Basically, What are Olympiads & its Benefits

Olympiads are included in extra co-curricular activities. Olympiad is one of those competitions which were started in America and the students who would want to participate in the same would have to compete with each other. Olympiad exams have become a part of all schools in recent times. Students are exposed to national-level competitions from a young age. These exams are conducted in all subjects namely English, Science, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Social Studies, Art, Essay, and even Spelling. It helps them to compete with one another and understand their strengths in the subject.

           Research has shown that cooperation and teamwork, practice toward an objective, and learning made exciting through motivational activities are essential ingredients in attaining academic excellence. Educational Olympiad is built upon cooperative learning. Educational Olympiad events require the transfer of conceptual understanding to novel situations. Thus, the events exercise critical thinking skills. Educational Olympiad events are designed to foster the growth of students’ knowledge and understanding of science and technology.

Categories

There are four categories in this Olympiad;

CATEGORY-I
All students of 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th class are eligible to apply.
CATEGORY-II
Students enrolled/passed in 9th or 10th /matric or O-Levels or equivalent are eligible to apply.
CATEGORY-III
Students enrolled in 11th or 12th /Intermediate, DAE, ADP, or A-Levels or equivalent are eligible to apply.
CATEGORY-IV
Undergraduates, Graduates and Master Students from all disciplines are eligible to apply.

Eligiblity

All students from the country are eligible for the Olympiad.

  • CATEGORY-I: All students of 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th class are eligible to apply.
  • CATEGORY-II: Students enrolled/passed in 9th or 10th /matric or O-Levels or equivalent are eligible to apply.
  • CATEGORY-III: Students enrolled/passed in 11th or 12th /Intermediate, DAE, ADP, A-Levels or equivalent are eligible to apply.
  • CATEGORY-IV: Undergraduates, Graduates, and Master Students from all disciplines are eligible to apply.
  • All private, semi-government, and government Schools, Medical Institutes, Colleges, institutes & universities are eligible to apply 
  • The applicant should be a regular/private science student in public or private sector institutes.
  • Students from all provinces, namely Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, AJK (Azad Jammu & Kashmir), and Gilgit Baltistan, can apply for the competition.
  • Female students are encouraged to apply.
  • Minorities are encouraged to apply.
  • Registration Fee is PKR 470/-.
  • Last Date for receipt of the application is Monday, April 21, 2025.
  • Incomplete/applications received after the closing date shall not be entertained.

1. National Science Olympiad Phase-I (2023) Report:

  • NSO-I 2022 was started in April & ended in June 2023.
  • Roll Number Slips were issued online in May 2023.
  • The test was conducted online in June 2023.
  • A total of 50 Candidates were selected from all categories for one-time scholarships.
  • Documentation & scholarships were disbursed to all respective selected candidates.
  • A total amount of PKR 4, 22,000 was distributed along with E-Certificates.

Selection Process of National Science Olympiad 2025

  • In Round I, students securing 80% or more will be selected for Round II.
  • In Round II, students securing 90% or more will be selected for the Final Round.
  • After the Final Round, 10 students will be selected for a scholarship award. 
  • A merit list of the top ten Olympiad winners is prepared based on the Final Round Test of selected candidates. Rounds I and II contribute to the filtration process for the Olympiad. 
  • The Olympiad contributes as a learning process for students in different rounds of different important subjects.

Awards

  • All the students who participated will receive an Appreciation E-Certificate.
  • Scholarship amount may vary in between PKR 15,000 – 20, 000.
  • Selected students after Round III will receive cash awards in the form of scholarships and scholarship E-Certificates & may receive recognition and exposure through magazines, e-newsletters, and social media.

  • The deadline for submission of applications is Monday, April 21, 2025.
  • Roll Number Slips for Round I will be issued by Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

  • Test Sessions for Round I will start on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
  • Results will be announced for Round I on Monday, April 28, 2025.

  • Results will be announced for Round II on Monday, May 05, 2025.
