We hope this email finds you well. We are writing to update you on the progress of our National Artwork Olympiad. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to delay the Olympiad by a few weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we appreciate your understanding.

With the delay, we are pleased to announce that we have also taken the opportunity to refresh the Olympiad and add new themes for you to explore.

There is no specific theme for photography. Every artist will do their own photo shoot according to their skills. for samples, we upload them on the website. you can find the links below. 

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Lighting - pay attention to lighting conditions and how they affect your photos. Experiment with natural light, flash, and artificial light sources to find the best results.
Composition - think about how you want to frame your subject, and consider the rule of thirds, leading lines, and other elements of composition.
Focus - make sure that your subject is in focus and the background is blurred to add depth and interest to your photos.
Settings - learn how to adjust your camera's settings, such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, to achieve the look you want.

This theme invites you to showcase your skills by creating beautiful calligraphy pieces that celebrate the verses of the Quran:

    “Featuring passages from the Quran, either in their entirety or as selected verses.”
  • Names of Allah 
    “Creating calligraphy pieces that showcase the 99 names of Allah, such as Al-Rahman (The Most Merciful) and Al-Wali (The Protector).”
  • Hadith
     “Featuring sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), such as "The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr."
  •  Islamic quotations
    “Showcasing inspiring and meaningful sayings from Islamic scholars and leaders, such as Patience is the key to contentment.”
  •   Ayaats
    “Creating calligraphy pieces that highlight specific verses from the Quran, such as Ayat al-Kursi (The Verse of the Throne).”
  •  Du'as 
    “Featuring prayers and supplications, such as "O Allah, grant us ease in our affairs."
  •  Islamic patterns  
    “Incorporating traditional Islamic geometric patterns into your calligraphy pieces, such as stars, squares, and interlocking shapes.”

We are excited to announce our latest design theme. This theme invites you to explore your imagination and showcase your creative skills by designing pieces that represent your vision of the future.

Rules For Painting & Drawing

  • Judgment criteria shall be on creativity, design, clarity, content, and elements present.
  • Drawing / painting must be on paper of A3 size (297 x 420 mm) or A2 size. (420 x 594 mm).
  • Acceptable tools of drawing/painting include pencil, crayon, watercolor, oil paint, computer drawing, etc
  • Participants must include their contact information at the top of the poster. Entries that do not meet these criteria will be rejected.
  • The drawing/painting must not represent any particular individual, organization, or brand name and must not depict any religious theme.
  • Artwork submitted must be at least 640 pixels on the shorter side, and no more than 2000 pixels on the longer side. Images should be no larger than 2MB.
  • Photos must be in JPEG format.
  • Take a clear High Quality resolution photograph of artwork and then upload it to the online artwork.
  • The drawing/painting should be uploaded by 
  • 12th March, 2023 at artwork.greatfuture.org.pk

  • The artwork can include pictures or designs to complement the calligraphic work.
  • Participants must include their first and last name in the file name of their submission. Entries that do not meet these criteria will be rejected.
  • Judgment criteria shall be on creativity, design, clarity, content and elements present.
  • Artwork submitted must be at least 640 pixels on the shorter side, and no more than 2000 pixels on the longer side. Images should be no larger than 2MB.
  • Photos must be in JPEG format.
  • All submitted photos must contain the original EXIF metadata information.
  • Take a clear High Quality resolution photograph of artwork and then upload it to the online artwork.
  • Artwork should be uploaded till

Rules For Photography

  • Photos submitted must be at least 640 pixels on the shorter side, and no more than 2000 pixels on the longer side. Images should be no larger than 2MB.

  • All submitted photos must contain the original EXIF metadata information.
  • However there must be no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible references and/or marks on the image.
  • Basic editing, including color enhancement, the use of filters, and cropping of the Photo(s) is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo(s).
  • Every image uploaded is subject to a moderation process before it becomes visible on the contest page. Better Photography reserves the right to assess and disregard any submitted photo at our its discretion.
  • Photos that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content, including provocative nudity, violence, human rights and/or environmental violation, and/or any other content deemed to be contrary to the law, religious, cultural & moral traditions, and practices of Pakistan, are strictly prohibited and will be immediately discarded. A participant who submits any such photos may be permanently banned, subject to Better Photography’s discretion, from participating in any future contests.

Rules For Graphic Designing:

  • No AI art. You are required to create your own logo art. Absolutely no art found in programs such as illustrator art
  • No premade art of any kind in logo contests.
  • All winning sources will be downloaded to make sure the winning design is not premade. If art is found to be remade. No payout for winning with premade art
  • All entries must be the designer’s original work. Plagiarism is not tolerated. The source files for winning design entries must be uploaded within 24 hours. 
  • No payout to any banned designer for winning a contest with a stolen design, or art you did not create 100% of your own work.

Image Format Requirements

  • Designs must be created in vector format. Remember to keep the original vector files of your work. Do not upload them.
  • Designs must be created with Illustrator, CorelDraw, Fireworks or Flash. 
  • Designs must be in .jpeg or .png format. When uploading .png files, make sure you have a white background, otherwise, the image will turn black.
  • Minimum file size: 680 pixels wide x 490 pixels high, RGB format 300res/dpi.*
  • If the size and format requirements are not met, the quality and resolution of your images will be compromised.
  • website designs may be larger to show the full page, jpg or png file format only for the entry
  • No watermarks on design entries.
  • No raster-based elements in logo contests. Mockups are allowed but you need to show the normal view of the design not just a mockup of the design. 
  • No clipart or pre-made templates or designs that are made or used in tutorials (this will result in an immediate and permanent ban from the platform). Certain exceptions apply to website. 
  • No dingbats for logo design entries.
  • Photos can be traced “only” if you own the photo
  • You may not use the same entry in more than one open contest.
  • You may not upload multiple designs in one entry unless they are variations of one design such as color. So one design in one entry.
  • Designers may not comment on another designers work inside the contest page unless it is a community contest.

Judgment Panel:

  • Better artwork will appoint a judge / judges for each contest. This will comprise of members of the editorial team and / or external judges.
  • The judging panel shall assess and determine the winning artwork. The results and the winners will be announced on the website.
  • The decision of Better artwork’s judging panel will be final and binding on all Participants in respect to all matters relating to the Contest.
  • Better artwork reserves the right to call for original JPEG or RAW files with unchanged EXIF for the purpose of authentication. An image maybe disregarded if this information cannot be provided.
